Cloud City casanova Lando Calrissian himself will be making an appearance in the upcoming Han Solo spin-off movie, the second planned Star Wars anthology film.

The character, originally played by Billy Dee Williams in The Empire Strikes Back and reprised in Return Of The Jedi was introduced as an old friend of Han’s.

It’s heavily implied through the interaction between these two characters that they have embarked on many adventures together including a unfortunate game of Sabacc that sees Lando loses the Millennium Falcon to Han.

There’s currently no word on who might be filling the role, though according to some reports, an early frontrunner seems to have emerged in Donald Glover (as originally reported in The Wrap).

Alden Ehrenreich was officially unveiled for the part during last month’s Star Wars Celebration event in London – which was made famous by Harrison Ford.

Filming on the movie is due to begin early next year, aiming for a May 2018 release date.
