Director James Gunn confirmed on saturday via Instagram that Sylvester Stallone would be joining the cast of upcoming DC film ‘The Suicide Squad‘.
The Suicide Squad, also known as ‘Suicide Squad 2’, is based on the DC Comics antihero team ‘Suicide Squad’ and it is intended to be a standalone/unconnected sequel to 2016’s Suicide Squad (2016).
The cast also includes John Cena, Viola Davis, David Dastmalchian, Idris Elba , Nathan Fillion, Peter Capaldi, Pete Davidson, Alice Braga, Michael Rooker and Taika Waititi.
The Suicide Squad is currently scheduled to hit theaters on August 6, 2021.
