During a panel for ComicCon@Home we now have further details and a teaser trailer for Doctor Who series 13 which sees the return of Jodie Whittaker as the Thirteen Doctor and returning companion Mandip Gill as Yaz.

The panel featured Showrunner Chris Chibnall, the Thirteenth Doctor Jodie Whittaker, Mandip Gill, newcast member John Bishop and a very special surprise guest Jacob Anderson as they share exclusive content from Doctor Who. Moderated by Salon.com’s Melanie McFarland.

Game of thrones star Anderson will be one of a number of guests stars featuring in the upcoming series playing the role of Vinder.

Speaking about joining Doctor Who, Jacob said:

“The Doctor has been a part of my life forever, from watching and rewatching the serials on VHS as a kid and being terrified, to unexpectedly finding my eyes watering when the Tenth Doctor said ‘I don’t want to go’, I always wanted to live in the Whoniverse.

“Not only has a lifelong dream of mine now been fulfilled, but to be playing a character as fun, adventurous and dynamic as Vinder is the cherry on top. This is very cool.”

It was previously announced the doctor and Yaz would be joined in the TARDIS for Season 13 by comedian John Bishop.

The upcoming series 13 is rumoured to feature the Doctor’s old foes the ­clone warrior Sontarans.

The armoured fighters were first ­introduced in 1973, when Jon Pertwee was the Time Lord, but have not been out in force since 2008.

Bishop had been spotted filming on location with actors dressed as the alien humanoids early this year.
