Mads Mikkelsen In Talks To Replace Johnny Depp In ‘Fantastic Beasts’
Mads Mikkelsen is reportedly top of the list of actors being considered to replace Johnny Depp in the David Yates-directed Fantastic Beast 3, the third installment of the Harry Potter spinoff based on the JK Rowling fantasy franchise.
Reported on Deadline sources said Mikkelsen is Yates’ choice to play Grindelwald and he is in early talks. The aim is to keep on track a picture that recently moved its original November 12, 2021 release date to summer 2022. The cast led by Eddie Redmayne and Jude Law are already shooting.
Johnny Depp will no longer be part of ‘Fantastic Beasts’ franchise.
Warner Bros have announced Johnny Depp has been cut loose from their Fantastic Beasts franchise based in the Harry Potter universe.
“Johnny Depp will depart the Fantastic Beasts franchise,” said the studio in a statement today “We thank Johnny for his work on the films to date. Fantastic Beasts 3 is currently in production, and the role of Gellert Grindelwald will be recast. The film will debut in theaters worldwide in the summer of 2022.”
‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’ trilogy getting special edition Blu-Ray release
Know What You Did Last Summer is a 1997 American slasher film directed by Jim Gillespie, written by Kevin Williamson (Scream), and starring Jennifer Love Hewitt, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ryan Phillippe, and Freddie Prinze Jr.. It is loosely based on the 1973 novel of the same name by Lois Duncan and is the first installment in I Know What You Did Last Summer franchise. The film centers on four young friends who are stalked by a hook-wielding killer one year after covering up a car accident in which they killed a man. The film also draws inspiration from the urban legend known as the Hook, and the 1980s slasher films Prom Night (1980), and The House on Sorority Row (1982). The series of three films is now getting a new limited edition Blu-Ray release from 88 Films.
