Predator prequel ‘Prey’ to premiere exclusively on Hulu
Prey,” an all-new action-thriller from 20th Century Studios directed by Dan Trachtenberg (“The Boys,” “10 Cloverfield Lane”) and the newest entry in the “Predator” franchise, will stream August 5, 2022, exclusively on Disney’s direct-to-consumer platforms: as a Hulu Original in the U.S., a Star+ Original in Latin America, and a Star Original on Disney+ in all other territories.
Thomas brothers settle copyright lawsuit with Disney over Predator rights
in the same vein as Friday the 13th and the Hellraiser franchises the Predator franchise has caught in its own legal battle, with Disney having acquired the franchise as part of their 20th Century Fox acquisition but the writers of the original movie suing in an effort to recapture the rights.
Predator sequel given official title
In an interview with Collider producers John Davis and John Fox revealed that Dan Trachtenberg‘s upcoming Predator movie will be titled Skull.
The fifth film in the franchise will be an origin story about the Predator’s first journey to this planet.
Thomas brothers opens lawsuit for Predator rights
Jim and John Thomas, the brothers who wrote the 1987 action film Predator, have filed a lawsuit against Disney seeking confirmation of successfully recapturing rights to the franchise.
Meanwhile, Disney’s 20th Century unit has filed its own suit against the Thomas brothers with the goal of retaining rights.
‘Aliens: Fire Team’ game coming summer 2021
A new game set in the world of the Aliens movie franchise is coming this summer. ‘Aliens: Fireteam’ is a co-operative third-person survival shooter in which three-player teams must fight swarms of the interstellar creatures to complete the mission and get out alive. The game is from Cold Iron Studios, the San Jose-based game studio owned by Disney’s 20th Century Games unit.

‘Predator’ sequel lands director
20th Century Studios has Dan Trachtenberg (10 Cloverfield Lane) to direct the fifth installment in the Predator series. The script is being written by Patrick Aison, whose producer/writer credits include the series Kingdom, Jack Ryan and Treadstone.
