Deadline are reporting that a new actress has been cast to play the DC hero ‘Supergirl’ in the upcoming ‘Flash‘ movie. This marks the first appearance of the charecter in DC’s Cinematic Universe although she does feature in The CW’s hit show ‘Supergirl’ (played by Mellissa Benoist). Chosen from over 425 actresses who auditioned, Daytime Emmy nominee Sasha Calle (The Young and the Restless) has scored the feature role as Supergirl. The Boston, MA born-Columbian actress will be first Latina Supergirl ever in DC’s history.
