Tonight (Saturday 31st May) viewers saw Ncuti Gatwa’s final scenes as the Doctor as he steps down from one of the most iconic roles in British television. In an epic two-part season finale, viewers saw the Doctor face the Rani in an extraordinary battle to save the world and the Doctor made the ultimate sacrifice to save the life of one little girl.

This week’s journey to the 803rd Interstellar Song Contest took a shocking twist when Mrs Flood (Anita Dobson) bi-generated and revealed her true identity to be the Rani. Originally played by Kate O’Mara, the Rani is a Renegade Time Lord and enemy of the Doctor who first appeared back in the 1985 classic serial ‘The Mark of the Rani’.

The wait is almost over… See the Doctor explore new worlds, meet new allies and face deadly forces from beyond this universe in the trailer for Season Two, the BBC released today.

Featured in the trailer is a first look at iconic special guest stars including Rylan Clark, who will play himself, the co-host of the Interstellar Song Contest. Also featured is Alan Cumming who voices the villainous cartoon character, Mr Ring-a-Ding.
‘Doctor Who’ new season release date announced
It’s time to set your alarms! The BBC has annouced today that The Doctor (Ncuti Gatwa) is on his way back to our screens, this time with a new addition to the TARDIS, in the form of new companion Belinda Chandra (Varada Sethu). Season Two will officially launch on Saturday 12th April at 8am on BBC iPlayer and later that day on BBC One in the UK. At the same time, those outside of the UK can watch the Doctor and Belinda on their epic adventures on Disney+ where available.

Following on from Saturday’s explosive episode, The Legend of Ruby Sunday, in which the Doctor and Ruby came face to face with one of the Doctor’s greatest enemies, Sutekh (played by original actor Gabriel Woolf), the pair are set to take a trip down memory lane in Tales of the TARDIS: Pyramids of Mars.

It’s time to strap into the TARDIS and journey back to the sixties with The Doctor and Ruby Sunday as some groovy new images are released from the highly anticipated new season of Doctor Who, which is due to simultaneously premiere globally on 11th May 2024.

New glimpses at the time travelling duo donning some iconic sixties style can be seen in the far out new images which highlight an episode set in the sixties. This episode shows off the Doctor and Ruby’s distinctive style as they come face to face with the young Beatles.
