It was officially announced today that Tim Burton will be making his TV directorial debut with a new live-action series centered on Wednesday Addams, coming soon from Netflix.
HBO Max has given an early Season 2 renewal to Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai, the animated prequel to the beloved film franchise, from Warner Bros. Animation and Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Television.
The renewal was announced as part of WarnerMedia’s Kids and Family presentation at the TCA virtual Press Tour.
Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai is an upcoming animated comedy fantasy streaming television series, to be released on HBO Max, and serve as a prequel to the 1984 film Gremlins and its 1990 sequel The New Batch.
Set in 1920s Shanghai, the series boasts a cast that includes Ming-Na Wen (“Agent’s of S.H.I.E.L.D,” “The Mandalorian,” “Mulan”), BD Wong (“Mr. Robot,” “Jurassic World”) and James Hong (“Big Trouble in Little China,” “Blade Runner,” “Mulan”). In addition, Matthew Rhys (“The Americans,” “Perry Mason”), has been tapped to voice the half-hour show’s villain.
