The trailer has been released for the latest instalment in the Conjuring franchise, ‘The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It’ which is due for release on June 4th 2021 in theaters and on the HBO Max streamer service. The film has received an “R” rating from the MPA.
This film will serves as sequel to 2013’s The Conjuring and 2016’s The Conjuring 2, and as the eighth installment in the Conjuring Universe franchise overall; with other films in the series including The Nun, Annabelle, Annabelle: Creation, Annabelle Comes Home & The Curse of La Llorona. This instalment will be directed by Michael Chaves from a screenplay by David Leslie Johnson.
“The Devil Made Me Do It reveals a chilling story of terror, murder and unknown evil that shocked even experienced real-life paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren. One of the most sensational cases from their files, it starts with a fight for the soul of a young boy, then takes them beyond anything they’d ever seen before, to mark the first time in U.S. history that a murder suspect would claim demonic possession as a defence”.
Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga will be reprising their roles as paranormal investigators and authors Ed and Lorraine Warren, with James Wan and Peter Safran returning to co-produce the project.
