The long awaited reboot of Clive Barker‘s horror classic ‘Candyman‘ is due for release later this year.

Today Universal Pictures dropped a brand new trailer for the upcoming horror film.

Produced by Jordan Peele (Get Out, US) with Jason Blum for his studio Blumhouse (in association with MGM); and directed by Nia DaCosta (Top Boy, Crossing the Line).

The film stars Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Aquaman), Teyonah Parris (If Beale Street Could Talk) and Tony Todd returning as the title character.

Candyman is scheduled to be theatrically released in the United States on August 27, 2021. Its release date was delayed three times from an original June 2020 date due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
