MGM is bringing back The Addams Family for an upcoming sequel to 2019’s animated film, which is scheduled to be released on the big screen this Halloween, October 1, 2021. In a change to the release plans it will also be made available for at-home rental in the U.S. and Canada on the same day it opens in theaters.
In the latest installment of the franchise –
“We find Morticia and Gomez distraught that their children are growing up, skipping family dinners, and totally consumed with “scream time.” To reclaim their bond they decide to cram Wednesday, Pugsley, Uncle Fester and the crew into their haunted camper and hit the road for one last miserable family vacation. Their adventure across America takes them out of their element and into hilarious run-ins with their iconic cousin, It, as well as many new kooky characters. What could possibly go wrong?”
The sequel to MGM’s 2019 box-office smash hit has the additions of Bill Hader as all-new character “Cyrus” and Javon Walton taking on the role of the youngest Addams sibling, “Pugsley”.
Hader and Walton join returning Addams Family film stars Charlize Theron (Morticia), Oscar Isaac (Gomez), Chloë Grace Moretz (Wednesday), Nick Kroll (Fester), Bette Midler (Grandma) and Snoop Dogg (It).
Director Greg Tiernan has also returned for The Addams Family 2.
