Halloween…Kills! Michael Myers top 5 best kills (so far)

Michael Myers is one of the most terrifying and prolific serial killers in cinematic history with a pretty impressive body count.

Since he first donned that mask, overalls and trusty butchers knife in John Carpenter‘s original Halloween, Myers has continued to increase his body count in more ingenious ways – something that is sure to continue in the latest installment Halloween Kills.

The twelfth installment in the Halloween franchise and the eleventh to feature Myers will premier tomorrow October 15th and in anticipation we have chosen to rank our top 5 Michael Myers kills.

5) Attendant J. Black (Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers 1988)

10 years since “The Night He Came Home” on a rainy and stormy night, a Smith’s Grove Sanitarium an ambulance pulls up at the high security Ridgemont Federal Sanitarium, for the pickup/transfer of a patient to Smith’s Grove.

The patient in question is Michael Myers (George P. Wilbur). The comatose, heavily burned, sedated and bandaged-faced Myers is loaded into the vehicle and supervised by Attendant J. Black (David Jensen) and Attendant L. Evans (Nancy Borgenicht), as well as two paramedics sat in the front cab.

Although in a coma, Myers became conscious when he heard the two Smith’s Grove attendants discussing his nearest living relative, a young niece (Danielle Harris) in his hometown.

This discussion awoke Myers and he instantly attacked Black and drove his thumb into his forehead – Michael then killed Black’s fellow staff offscreen restarting his murderous rampage.

4) Jimmy Howell (Halloween H20: Twenty Years Later 1998)

October 29, 1998. Marion Whittington (Nancy Stephens) drove up to her home, where she was shocked to see it had been broken into.

She alerted some neighboring teenage boys, and after ice-hockey attired Jimmy Howell (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) called the police, he went back to her house alone to check it for intruders, with his hockey stick for protection.

When he found nothing, other than a ransacked home office and bottles of beer (to steal) from the refrigerator, Miss Whittington was given an all-clear signal to return. Now dark outside, she discovered the power was out, but searched with a flashlight in her office, where there was an empty file folder belonging to the late Doctor Sam Loomis labeled “LAURIE STRODE”.

Michael Myers (Chris Durand) appears behind her, sensing trouble and a presence, she raced back next door.

In the living room with the TV airing Ed Wood’s Plan 9 From Outer Space, she found Jimmy murdered in an easy-chair – his face was diagonally stabbed from forehead to chin with the blade of an ice skate stuck into his face.

It’s ironic that Jimmy is wear a Hockey Mask and the film was directed by Steve Miner (his work in the horror genre include Friday the 13th Part 2 & Friday the 13th Part III) as this kill could be torn out of a Friday the 13th movie.

3) Jill Franco (Halloween II 1981)

When Michael (Dick Warlock) continues his murderous rampage through the halls of Haddonfield Memorial Hospital, Jimmy (Lance Guest) and Jill (Tawny Moyer) notices most of the staff has disappeared. With the phone lines down and no help in sight both of them decided its best to try and get some help.

Jill plans to set off in her car to get help, but discoverers that her car would not start as her tires were slashed. As she goes back into the hospital Jill is relieved to find Laurie (Jamie Lee Curtis) safe.

However, this is extremely short-lived, as Michael appeared from behind and stabs her in the back with a scalpel, lifting her into the air and killing her.

The shot of her shoes slipping off her feet and hitting the ground before Michael discards her lifeless body is simply iconic.

2) Dana Haines (Halloween 2018)

Dana (Rhian Rees) was a true-crime podcaster working with Aaron Korey (Jefferson Hall) to investigate Michael Myers (James Jude Courtney).

Following a seemingly unresponsive meeting with Michael at Smith’s Grove Sanitarium and a lacklustre interview with Laurie, Dana and Aaron stop at a gas station and Dana says she needs to go to the bathroom – unaware that Michael is on the loose.

While she is there, Michael comes in and tries to enter her stall. Unaware of who he is, she tells him someone is in there. Michael then reaches his hand over the stall and drops teeth onto the floor. Dana is horrified and tries to crawl out. Michael grabs her legs and screams for Aaron. As the latter rushes to her aid, Michael kills him by bashing him into the stall Dana is hiding in.

Michael grabs her by the throat and strangles her, snapping her neck. For a brief second Michael steps back and admires his handiwork in the same vein as a kill from 1978…

1) Bob Simms (Halloween 1978)

On the night of Halloween 1978, Bob (John Michael Graham) and Lynda (P. J. Soles) drove towards the Wallace house so they could have sex.

Arriving at the empty house they were both ecstatic and the couple headed towards the master bedroom to have sex – oblivious to the fact that Annie (Nancy Loomis) had been murdered and that’s why the house was empty.

Afterwards, Lynda sends Bob to go downstairs to get some beers. While in the kitchen, the back door opened and Bob figures it’s Lynda playing a prank on him.

When he opened the closet doors, Michael Myers (Nick Castle) rushes out, lifting Bob up on the hinged, pantry door and stabbed him in the chest with a butcher knife, pinning him to the door.

The most unsettling moment of this scene is when Michael takes a moment to admire his handiwork as Bob’s body hangs bleeding from the wall with the knife protruding from his chest.
