RuPaul’s Drag Race winner Shea Couleé is set to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Couleé has landed a secret role in its upcoming series Ironheart.
The series will star Dominique Thorne as Marvel character Riri Williams, A genius inventor who creates a suit of armor that rivals the armor of Tony Stark / Iron Man.
Additionally, Anthony Ramos, Harper Anthony, Manny Montana and Alden Ehrenreich have been cast in undisclosed roles, with Lyric Ross cast as Williams’ best friend. It is unknown who Coulee will be playing in the series.
Chinaka Hodge was recently tapped as head writer on the series. The series will consist of six episodes, with Sam Bailey directing the first three and Angela Barnes directing the last three.
Jaren Kyei Merrell known professionally as Coulee’s addition to the series follows her legendary tenure on the Emmy-nominated show RuPaul’s Drag Race: having won All Stars 5 and finishing a finalist on the special all-winners edition of All Stars 7 and her original season, Drag Race 9.
Ironheart is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ in late 2023, and will be part of Phase Five of the MCU.
