Disney Release Calendar Shakeup Continues
With coronavirus cases surging in the U.S. and new hotspots breaking out around the globe, Disney announced major changes to the studio’s release calendar.
Disney has pulled Mulan from the studio’s release calendar and has also delayed their upcoming Star Wars movies and Avatar sequels.
‘The New Mutants’ release opening of the film during ComicCon@Home
During ComicCon&Home panel, on Thursday, July 23rd thd opening minutes of the film were previewed. The panel featured stars Anya Taylor Joy, Maise Williams, Henry Zaga , Blu Hunt, Charlie Heaton and director Josh Boone. The panel is moderated by Ira Madison. The panel can be viewed in full here.
The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It release moved to 2021
The latest instalment in the Conjuring franchise, ‘The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It’ is was due for release on September 11th 2020; however due to the constant release re-shuffle due to Covid19 the films release have now been pushed back to by. June 4th 2021 by New Line & Warner Bros. Christopher Nolan’s blockbuster ‘Tenet’ which was scheduled for release in August this year has also been delayed indefinitely.

Kevin Smith previewing new Horror film ‘Killroy was Here’ and more in Virtual Comic Con panel
Following the cancellation of San Diego Comic-Con 2020 many online events and activities have been announced as part of the ‘Comic-Con@Home’ program. Among these will an ‘An Evening With Kevin Smith‘ panel on Saturday, July 25th at 6PM PDT.
‘ The Batman’ companion TV series coming to HBO Max
HBO Max has ordered an original DC series set in the Gotham City police department, from ‘The Batman‘ director Matt Reeves, Boardwalk Empire creator Terence Winter, The Batman producer Dylan Clark, and Warner Bros. Television.
The CW has found it’s new Batwoman
Following the surprise departure of Ruby Rose from Batwoman at the end of The CW superhero drama’s first season, the show has opted to create a new character to play Batwoman rather than recast Rose’s charecter of Kate Kane (a cousin of Bruce Wayne). It has now confirmed that actress Javica Leslie has been cast in the lead role from Season 2 and moving forward. 
The Forever Purge Release Date Re-announced
Universal is moving a group of Blumhouse titles deeper into the theatrical release calendar including Halloween Kills and its sequel Halloween Ends, MGM/Monkeypaw’s Candyman and the upcoming Purge 5.
Latest Candyman Movie Delayed Due To Coronavirus AGAIN
Universal Pictures was set to bring a horror icon back to life on June 12, 2020 with the release Candyman. This upcoming release got pushed back to September 25, 2020 due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.
This installment will be a direct sequel to the original 1992 film and has been described as a spiritual sequel.
Unfortunately, due to the coronavirus pandemic that’s forced cinemas across the world to shut down, Universal will no longer be releasing Candyman on that date.
