Interview with Yee Jee Tso (Doctor Who TV Movie)

2We spoke with actor Yee Jee Tso known for his role as ‘Chang Lee’ in the Doctor Who Telemovie (1996).

“Making movies is awesome!”

What inspired you to become an actor?
I kind of fell into my first couple of gigs actually, by luck. On the 2nd occasion, filming was on location at an abandoned railway tunnel. The entire cast was dressed in 1890s period attire, and the set was decorated with historical accuracy as a coolie camp. “Coolie” was the term used for Chinese immigrant railway workers. I was sitting on an “apple box” and directly in front of me was the camera crane in all its technological glory and coolness, set against the historic backdrop in a surreal juxtaposition. That moment was when I got hooked. “Making movies is awesome!” I thought (or something to that effect). Continue reading

#SaveHannibal petition gains momentum

indexA change.org petition is gaining momentum calling for NBC to reconsider the cancellation of Hannibal. The petition was created by Carlos Mazal from London shortly after news broke of the shows cancellation on Monday.

We spoke to Carlos and he stated that;

“It’s just a great show. I’ve been a fan of Hannibal since Anthony Hopkins so I was excited to see a new interpretation of the character. The cast is excellent and Mads Mikkelsen as Hannibal is genuinely disturbing (in a good way)! The man is a master of subtle expression. I started the petition because I was genuinely disappointed with NBC’s decision to cancel it. Mr. Fuller’s show is superb. The performances are excellent, the dialogue is well written and the cinematography is visually and artistically compelling. Fannibal’s just want to continue that experience. Also, I’m a huge foodie so watching Hannibal prepare, flambé and cook meals on the show is incredibly satisfying! Hmm, lung flambé! I just hope the petition helps the show get picked up by another network because the show deserves to stay on the basis of it’s quality and Fannibals deserve a proper ending. Either way, we thank NBC, Mr. Fuller and the rest of the Hannibal cast for giving us 3 great seasons! Here’s to hoping for a 4th one down the road”Hannibal-KeyArt-16x9-1

The petition has already got over 58,000 signatures! We at Indie Mac User urge you to sign the petition #SaveHannibal

DINNERS CANCELLED: NBC cancels Hannibal

Hannibal has been cancelled by NBC. They have decided not to renew for a fourth season – this news comes three episodes into the shows third season. Hannibal-KeyArt-16x9-1

Creator Bryan Fuller released a statement stating that:

 “NBC has allowed us to craft a television series that no other broadcast network would have dared, and kept us on the air for three seasons despite Cancellation Bear Chow ratings and images that would have shredded the eyeballs of lesser Standards & Practices enforcers, [NBC president] Jen Salke and her team have been fantastic partners and creatively supportive beyond measure”.“Hannibal is finishing his last course at NBC’s table this summer, but a hungry cannibal can always dine again. And personally, I look forward to my next meal with NBC.”

indexNBC also released a statement saying that:

 “We have been tremendously proud of Hannibal over its three seasons. Bryan and his team of writers and producers, as well as our incredible actors, have brought a visual palette of storytelling that has been second to none in all of television — broadcast or cable. We thank Gaumont and everyone involved in the show for their tireless efforts that have made Hannibal an incredible experience for audiences around the world.”

This announcement has put a real low point on the remainder of the series that will undoubtedly end on a series cliffhanger that will leave fans wanting more. Damn you NBC another show ends before the final course is served !!!!!
