Charles Cyphers, known for his role as Sheriff Leigh Brackett in the Halloween franchise, died from a brief illness on Sunday, his manager Chris Roe announced. He was 85.

Review: Halloween Kills
Halloween Kills is a 2021 American slasher film directed by David Gordon Green and written by Green, Danny McBride and Scott Teems. The film is a sequel to 2018’s Halloween and the twelfth installment in the Halloween franchise.
The film stars Jamie Lee Curtis and Nick Castle, who reprise their roles as Laurie Strode and Michael Myers, with James Jude Courtney also portraying Myers again. Judy Greer, Andi Matichak, and Will Patton also reprise their roles from the previous film, with Anthony Michael Hall, Robert Longstreet and Thomas Mann joining the cast amongst ‘legacy’ cast members Charles Cyphers, Kyle Richards and Nancy Stephens.
BlumFest 2021: Return to Haddonfield – new Halloween Kills featurette released
David Gordon Green’s Halloween Kills is finally making its way into cinemas and streaming on Peacock on October 15.
In the same vein of its predecessor, Halloween Kills is set to have many returning characters appear. Charles Cyphers has reprised the role of Sheriff Leigh Brackett one of many fan favourites of the original 1978 Halloween. Some of the other confirmed stars from the first movie set to return are Kyle Richards as Lindsey Wallace and Nancy Stephens as Nurse Marion Chambers.
During BlumFest a new featurette was released highlighting some of these reunions. As co-writer Danny McBride explains, it was about “finding ways to keep them involved with the story.”
