American film director, actor, producer, screenwriter, underwater cinematographer and stuntman Ricou Browning has died.
He was best known for his underwater stunt work, playing the Gill-man in Creature from the Black Lagoon, Revenge of the Creature and The Creature Walks Among Us – other actors portrayed the creature on land but Browning was the only actor to have portrayed the creature more than once.

Universal Pictures Home Entertainment has announced the release of several Universal Classic Monsters films in 4K Ultra HD, Blu-Ray + Digital [4K UHD].
The stand alone releases come following the release of Universal Classic Monsters: Icons of Horror Collection Volume 1 – which included Dracula, Frankenstein, The Invisible Man and The Wolf Man.

Following the release of Volume 1 last year, this set includes The Mummy (1932), The Bride of Frankenstein (1935), Phantom of the Opera (1943) and Creature from the Black Lagoon (1954).

Universal Classic Monsters: Icons of Horror Collection is a four-film set from Universal that is being released on 4K BluRay UHD on October 5th 2021.
The set spans the years 1931-1941, including Dracula, Frankenstein, The Invisible Man, and The Wolf Man.
From writer Michael Mallory; Universal Studios Monsters: A Legacy of Horror was originally released in 2009, and a new edition is on the way. The Revised and Updated 2021 Edition of the book celebrates some big anniversaries, including the 90th anniversaries of both Dracula and Frankenstein.
Chloe Zhao has teamed up with Universal Pictures to join the studio’s classic film monster repertoire, developing a feature project based on the most famous vampire of all, Dracula.
Zhao will write, direct and produce through her production company, Highwayman.
This new Dracula project, will not be anything like the traditional or even modern incarnations made over the years with Zhao’s version being described as an original, futuristic, sci-fi Western.
