‘Hotel Transylvania: Transformania’ release pushed back

The fourth and final installment in the “Hotel Transylvania” franchise, “Hotel Transylvania: Transformania,” release date has been moved by Sony Pictures from July 23rd to October 1st 2021, kicking off the Halloween season.

The movie will see Drac (Brian Hull) and the rest of the monsters embark on a brand-new adventure full of twists and turns. When a new invention created by Van Helsing (Jim Gaffigan) transforms all the monsters into humans and Johnny (Andy Samberg) into a monster, they must work together to switch back before the change becomes permanent.

Interestingly the film has seen the quiet recasting of franchise favourite Adam Sandler in the lead role; although signed on for the first three films it seems Sandler’s deal has not been renewed for this fourth instalment; possibly to allow Sony to go with a cheaper actor rather than paying to renew Sandler’s contract or a choice on the part of Sandler, especially given a new deal which extends his relationship with Netflix.
