Gwendoline Christie joins cast for Tim Burton ‘Addams Family’ Netflix series ‘Wednesday’

Gwendoline Christie (Game Of Thrones, Star Wars) has been announced to join the cast for Wednesday, Tim Burton’s live-action Addams Family series.gwendoline-christie-game-of-thrones-emmy-nomination-hbo

Christie will play Larissa Weems, the principal of Nevermore Academy who still has an axe to grind with her former classmate Morticia Addams (Catherine Zeta-Jones). Also joining the cast are relative newcomers Isaac Ordonez as Pugsley Addams, Victor Dorobantu as Thing, and George Burcea as Lurch.

It was also recently announced that actress Jenny Ortega has been cast in the lead role of Wednesday Addams with Catherine Zeta JonesLuis Guzman signing on to play Morticia & Gomez Addams alongside the further cast announced. The series, which is simply titled “Wednesday” will follow the beloved Addams Family character’s “spooky coming-of-age.”

Eight episodes have been ordered by Netflix; to be directed/executive produced by Burton with a release date still to be confirmed.
