‘The Crown’ season 5 gets release date

Netflix has announced the release date for Season Five of royal drama The Crown as part of their TUDUM online fan event. The show returns November 9th 2022 following a long gap to Covid-related production delays.

Season 5 of The Crown stars  Imelda Staunton taking over the role of Queen Elizabeth II from Olivia Colman. The cast also includes Elizabeth Debicki as Princess Diana, Dominic West as the Prince of Wales, Jonathan Pryce as the Duke of Edinburgh, and Lesley Manville as Princess Margaret.

Following the news of the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II the showrunner Peter Morgan, writer said that production on Season 6 of The Crown “will stop filming out of respect” for a period of time.
