Once again we attended this event as ‘Official Press’ thanks to Showmasters !!!!
Held at the London Olympia during the weekend of 19th – 20th November 2022.
Guests that attended this weekends event included:-
- Jamie Campbell Bower (Stranger Things)
- Jodie Whittaker (Doctor Who)
- Matt Smith (Doctor Who/House of Dragons)
- David Tennant (Doctor Who)
- Colin Baker (Doctor Who)
- Sylvester McCoy (Doctor Who)
- Peter Davison (Doctor Who)
any many more!
The Winter event is much smaller than the summer London Film & Comic Con and as a result was quieter and would be more suited to families and children than the larger summer events however there is significantly less guests, stalls and activities on offer.
As in previous years the event offered autograph & photo opportunities with stars from TV & Film covering a wide variety of interests and genres as well as many vendors selling all varieties of related merchandise.
Check more of our photos from the event below:
There were also specialist talks and Q&A panels with the stars throughout the weekend. These panels as with previous years were a mix of free and paid ticketed panel including Panels with Doctor Who Stars Jodie Whittaker, Matt Smith and dual panel with Classic Doctors Sylvester McCoy and Colin Baker that was well attended. Check out the clip below!
This event also had dedicated zones for other interests such as Small Press / Artists Alley featuring a mixture of new and established comic artists and Cartoonists as well as an official Gerry Anderson stand.
There was also a Cosplay Area with special displays from groups around the country.
We attended the event on the Saturday.
Entry to the venue was relatively easy although did require entering another hall to get a wristband before entering the convention hall. There were some queuing issues around the main guests and photo areas were often over crowded and a little chaotic – this had been an issue at the summer event too and we hope they might have found a better way to handle these especially when having large guests in a smaller space within the venue than the summer event.
Overall we had an enjoyable day and would come again but were hoping there would be more activities on offer.
London Comic Con returns for the London Comic Con Spring on March 2nd – 3rd 2023.
