Ahead of tomorrow’s new trailer release, Entertainment Weekly have shared a series of new images from Scream VI including the long awaited return of Hayden Panettiere as Scream 4 character Kirby Reed.

“Bringing Ghostface to New York adds an entirely new element to the story,” Courteney Cox teases in her chat with Entertainment Weekly. “Taking the character out of a small town and putting them in the heart of the city that never sleeps is more terrifying than ever.”

Panettiere teases, “[Kirby has] come a long way. What happened to her has obviously impacted her life, and it sends her in a certain direction, but she’s still the same old Kirby at the heart of it. She’s just a little older, a little wiser, but just as spitfire-y, and snarky, and all that good stuff.”

The film continues with the survivors of the latest Ghostface killings, sisters Samantha and Tara Carpenter and twins Chad and Mindy Meeks, leaving Woodsboro behind and starting a new chapter of their lives in New York City only to again be plagued by a streak of murders by a new Ghostface killer.

Original cast member Courteney Cox will return for the sixth entry in the iconic slasher franchise alongside Hayden Panettiere reprising her role from 2011’s Scream 4.

Several cast members from Scream (2022) are also set to return Melissa Barrera, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding and Jenna Ortega will reprise their roles for the next movie.

Jack Champion, Liana Liberato, Devyn Nekoda, Josh Segarra, Samara Weaving, Tony Revolori, Henry Czerny and Dermot Mulroney will also be joining the cast.

Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett are returning to direct the franchise’s next installment, while James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick are back on scripting duties. Vanderbilt will also serve as a producer on Scream 6 with Paul Neinstein and William Sherak. Kevin Williamson is executive producing alongside Gary Barber, Peter Oillataguerre, and Chad Villella.

Fans can expect the next Scream installment to release in theatres worldwide on 10th March 2023.
