Donald Sutherland, the beloved actor who starred in scores of films from The Dirty Dozen, MASH and Klute to Animal House and Ordinary People to Pride & Prejudice and The Hunger Games franchise and won an Emmy for Citizen X, died Thursday in Miami after a long illness. He was 88.
The 2017 Honorary Oscar recipient also is the father of Emmy-winning 24 actor Kiefer Sutherland and veteran CAA Media Finance exec Roeg Sutherland. CAA confirmed the news to Deadline.

The family of the award-winning documentary filmmaking maverick, Morgan Spurlock, announced today that he passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on May 23, 2024, in New York from complications of cancer.

The new Superman suit has been officially revealed. As filming on James Gunn‘s ‘Superman’ (formerly ‘Superman: Legacy’) continues, the writer-director shared to his Threads account a first look at star David Corenswet in costume as the Man of Steel. The first thing fans might notice is the suit is quite dirty and weathered, which suggests Superman will be doing plenty of down and dirty fighting in the movie.

Actor Bernard Hill, best known for roles in Titanic and Lord of the Rings, has died aged 79.

Warner Bros have announced today that a fifth “Matrix” movie is in development; and it will mark the first installment without Lana or Lily Wachowski as directors.
Instead, “The Martian” screenwriter Drew Goddard will handle filmmaking duties. He will also write the script and produce with his partner at Goddard Textiles, Sarah Esberg.
