BBC Doctor Who launches Mission Dalek

BBC Doctor Who announced that they are giving audiences at home the opportunity to create their own brand new digital stories for the Doctor that take him into the new series. The project is titled Mission Dalek as recently teased by the BBC with a mysterious video trailer.

  

“Audiences can create their story from scratch using new alien enemies from their imagination, or they can use Daleks, Missy and other Doctor Who monsters. Using clips and pictures supplied by the Doctor Who team (found here bbc.co.uk/missiondalek), or video that fans shoot specially on their phone, tablet or camera, it’s an opportunity to create something special and imaginative, that’s full of Doctor Who passion and adventure” 

Selected winners will be invited visit the show’s set where they’ll have a chance to meet current doctor Peter Capaldi!!!

‘New Who’ 10th Anniversary

When Doctor Who came back to our TV screens in 2005 both audiences and critics were wowed as it ushered in a new era of time and space antics.

Russell T Davies was the mastermind behind the shows reintroduction and turned the programme from ‘a bit of a joke’ into TV gold over-night following a 16 year gap (not including the TV movie).

The casting of Christopher Eccleston as as the post time war doctor and Billie Piper as his companion was great casting and started the show off with a bang. Continue reading

BAFTA Cymru, IRIS Prize & Cineworld

We were lucky enough to attend a special screening at Cineworld Cardiff that was a joint venture between BAFTA Cymru and the IRIS Prize.

BAFTA Cymru has a remit to ‘champion film, television and games in Wales’ and their latest achievement has been partnering with Cineworld Cardiff with the launch of a BAFTA Cymru branded bar & screening events at the cinema; this being the first.

IRIS Prize is Cardiff’s international LGBT short film festival. 30 short films are in competition every year for a £30,000 prize fund that allows the winner to make another short film in the UK; this is a great initiative that brings interesting film-makers to make shorts in the UK. Doctor Who Experience – Regenerated

dwexp-logo-blackThe Doctor Who Experience (Cardiff) is one of the largest and most ambitious Doctor Who exhibitions ever staged. Featuring props and costumes from throughout the shows 51 years (both classic and modern era’s).

There are two separate areas of this exhibition.

Firstly an interactive experience which stars Twelfth Doctor Peter Capaldi, this exclusive adventure – especially written by Joseph Lidster (Torchwood, Sarah Jane Adventures) and directed by Paul Wilmshurst (Doctor Who) – puts the audience at the heart of an unmissable experience! Continue reading
