Lady Gaga confirms ‘Joker 2’ role

Lady Gaga has confirmed her casting in Joker 2 by posting a musical teaser to social media.

The sequel, officially titled Joker: Folie à Deux, will star Gaga opposite Joaquin Phoenix. The teaser is set to “Cheek to Cheek,” which Gaga has famously covered in her music career alongside Tony Bennett.

Warner Bros. announces release date for Joker 2

The Joker is set to return to the big screen on October 4, 2024.

The Joker 2 sequel starring Joaquin Phoenix as the DC villain will be directed by Todd Phillips and we can expect a big media push from Warner Bros. after the 2019 debut of Joker, grossed around $1 billion in box office.

Joaquin Phoenix’s performance in the film won him multiple awards, including an Academy Award for Best Actor, a BAFTA Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role, a Critics’ Choice Movie Award for Best Actor, a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor – Motion Picture Drama, and a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role.

Batgirl directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah are in shock over the abrupt axing of their comic book DCEU movie.

Warner Bros. announced that it would not be releasing the upcoming film in theaters or on streaming despite the movie being fully shot and in pre-production.

Warner Bros. issues official statement on Batgirl cancellation

Warner Bros. has issued an official statement on the cancelation of Batgirl, which has been scrapped despite having already completed filming.

The DCEU movie was set to star In the Heights actor Leslie Grace as the titular hero, with Michael Keaton reprising his Batman role.

Batgirl wasn’t the only film on the chopping block, either, with Scoob! sequel  Scoob! Holiday Haunt also canceled entirely.

Batgirl movie gets ‘shelved’ by Warner Bros.

The DC Comics film Batgirl will be completely “shelved” by Warner Bros. a top Hollywood source told The New York Post.

The film, made under a previous regime, was initially designed to be an HBO Max release, and then was being considered for theatrical distribution. Due to COVID issues and shutdowns, the budget ballooned.
