Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz are reuniting for another “Mummy” movie.

Lee Cronin (Evil Dead Rise) is writing and directing a new take on ‘The Mummy’, it has been announced today. Atomic Monster and Blumhouse, along with Cronin’s company ‘Doppelgängers’, are producing.The project was previously only known as a Cronin mystery movie that had been announced earlier this year and is now set for an April 17, 2026 release.
“This will be unlike any Mummy movie you ever laid eyeballs on before,”
he said in a statement to THR.

Atomic Monster and Blumhouse are co-financing the film. Producing are James Wan, Jason Blum and John Keville. Executive producing are Michael Clear, Judson Scott and Macdara Kelleher. Alayna Glasthal is the executive overseeing the project for Atomic Monster.
Universal Pictures Home Entertainment has announced the release of Universal Classic Monsters: Icons of Horror Collection Volume 2.
Following the release of Volume 1 last year, this set includes The Mummy (1932), The Bride of Frankenstein (1935), Phantom of the Opera (1943) and Creature from the Black Lagoon (1954).
