‘The Batman Part II’, ‘Superman – Legacy’ announced as part of new DC slate

Robert Pattinson’s Batman return is set as Warner Bros. has announced Matt Reeves’ “The Batman Part II” will open in theaters on Oct. 3, 2025. Additional information, including a plot synopsis, remains under wraps for now. James Gunn and Peter Safran confirmed “The Batman Part II” release date during a press event on the Warner Bros. lot on Jan. 30.

Gunn and Safran are developing a new DC Universe, which includes the 2025 theatrical release “Superman: Legacy,”

“The Batman Part II” will remain a standalone property and fall under the newly branded “DC Elseworlds” category. Gunn announced that any DC film or television series that is set outside of the main DC Universe will get the “DC Elseworlds” tag, exactly how DC Comics functions.

Sean S. Cunningham developing Friday the 13th reboot

Sean S. Cunningham is developing a reboot for Friday the 13th, whilst also developing a reboot of a horror movie he produced back in 1985, House.

As reported by Bloody Disgusting, Cunningham is also producing an original film titled The Night Driver, working alongside writer Jeff Locker and director Jeremy Weiss on the various upcoming projects.

COAST, is an 2022 independent film directed by Jessica Hester and Derek Schweickart from a screenplay by Cindy Kitagawa, who was inspired by her own childhood experiences, COAST blends the explorative experience of self-discovery with the untarnished filter of youth.

The film’s vibrant ensemble cast is anchored by Fátima Ptacek (longtime voice of Dora the Explorer); stand-up comedian Cristela Alonzo (Cars 3); and Academy Award® winner Melissa Leo (The Fighter).

Restless music-lover Abby (Ptacek) is desperate to escape the predominantly agricultural central California coast, where young thrill-seekers clash with generations of tradition.
