On the eve of the release of Matt Reeves ‘The Batman’ we have learned that several films from the Batman filmography will be getting 4k ‘Ultimate Collector’s Edition’ releases including Tim Burton’s Batman (1989), Batman Returns (1992) and Christopher Nolan’s trilogy of Batman Begins (2005), The Dark Knight (2008) & The Dark Knight Rises (2012) from Warner Bros/DC  Please see further details below.

New ‘Alien’ movie in the works from Fede Alvarez

Fede Alvarez filmmaker behind Don’t Breathe, and 2013’s remake of Evil Dead has been tapped to write and direct an original standalone Alien film for 20th Century Studios. Ridley Scott will produce. The project is intended to be made for Hulu as part of 20th Century’s ambitions to make more than 10 movies a year for the Disney-owned streaming service.

‘Friday the 13th Part III’ getting Limited Edition Steelbook for 40th Anniversary

Paramount continues celebrating big anniversaries in the Friday the 13th franchise with new Steelbook Blu-ray releases, and up next is 1982’s sequel Friday the 13th Part III. In the new trailer for the upcoming Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, Warner Bros. continues to tease a return to Hogwarts and a takedown of Gellert Grindelwald (played by Mads Mikkelsen, who takes over the role from Johnny Depp), who is considered to be among the most powerful and dangerous Dark Wizards, as he continues to wreak havoc in his attempts to seize control of the wizarding world.

‘Ghostbusters’ Director Ivan Reitman, dies at 75

Producer-director Ivan Reitman, whose wildly successful comedies of the ‘70s and ‘80s included the blockbuster Ghostbusters, died in his sleep on Feb. 12 in Montecito, Calif., his family confirmed to the Associated Press. He was 75. The cause of death was not released.
