Bloody Disgusting is reporting that a script is complete for a remake of horror classic ‘Pumpkinhead’ from Paramount Pictures sub-division Paramount Players, with news on production start date and a director announcement expected soon.
Paramount Players recently released Paranormal Activity: The Next of Kin, and are also in production on several horror films including Orphan: First Kill, a Pet Sematary prequel, Something’s Wrong With Rose and 
Lance Henriksen starred in the original Stan Winston-directed 1988 creature feature as Ed Harley, a grieving father who conjures up the titular monster in an effort to kill those who took his young son from him. Continue reading

In the 1980’s, Mary Whitehouse, a staunch supporter of purity of what people could peruse in their own home with arrests of video merchants and artists in the wake of this moral panic. Ironically, in the 1970’s there was a British independent director by the name of Pete Walker who was infamous for his low-budget, graphic, and sadistic horror movies that, despite not being in the 72 videos that were deemed video nasties, troubled British censors. Walker delved into many genres such as erotic, detective, and thrillers. As it is the Halloween season, I will make my attempt to rank Mr. Walker’s horror films from the worst to the very best. Michael Dougherty’s gloriously campy festive horror/comedy Krampus is getting a new 4K UHD BluRay release from Scream Factory. ‘KRAMPUS: THE NAUGHTY CUT‘ restores key dialogue and scenes that had to be trimmed from the original theatrical release in order to appease the MPAA. Supervised by Dougherty, this is the definitive version of the holiday cult classic for the entire family to enjoy.

Music and score plays such a huge part of the genre; with music able to change a scene from shocking and graphic to comedic with the change of a note. Many hugely talented composers and musicians have contributed to the genre over the years and here we have chose five of our favourites and discuss why they have such a lasting impact; even beyond the films that they accompanied.
