A teaser trailer has arrived for animated Star Trek spin-off Star Trek: Lower Decks Season 3 as part of a panel at Star Trek: Mission Chicago, a three-day Star Trek fan event filled with exclusive panels and reveals devoted to the wildly popular — and ever-expanding — sci-fi franchise. Star Trek: Lower Decks, which premiered in 2019 and follows the lower decks-residing crew of the U.S.S. Cerritos, will begin streaming its third season exclusively on Paramount+ later this year and is already renewed for a fourth season.

Academy bans Will Smith from Oscars and events for 10 years following Chris Rock slap

Twelve days after Will Smith slapped and screamed profanities at Chris Rock during the 94th Academy Awards ceremony, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has ruled that Smith — who was presented with the best actor Oscar later that same evening — has been banned from returning to the Oscars or attending any other Academy events for the next 10 years.

British actress June Brown dies age 95

 

Actress June Brown, who played the much-loved character Dot Cotton on EastEnders for more than three decades, has died at the age of 95.

Review: Doctor Who – Mind Of The Hodiac

There isn’t often the opportunity to see some of the first work of an author that has gone on to make an impact. Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson had both early works published in some form (Jordan’s being published by hid wife and Sanderson publishing a first draft as a Kickstarter reward), yet with Big Finish it’s almost surprising that something like Mind of the Hodiac hasn’t happened sooner. Russell T. Davies found the initial script for Part One and storyline for Part Two in a box in 2020 when Emily Cook was doing the Lockdown watch-alongs on Twitter which he wrote at some point between 1986 and 1987 before even making it into TV, the first script he sent to the Doctor Who Production Office which was, of course, rejected. In finding the script, pictures were posted on Twitter of some of the pages as a treat and in Davies’ mind that was the end of that. But then Scott Handcock, director and writer for Big Finish, contacted Davies with Emily Cook in tow as one of the newer producers to acquire a copy of the script (apparently physically and not just scanned into a computer if the behind the scenes interviews are correct in its implication). ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ premiere date delayed by two days

The Star Wars live-action spin-off series Obi-Wan Kenobi has seen it’s release pushed back by two days to May 27th, however the first two episodes will be released that the same time the streamer has announced today. The series see’s Ewan McGregor reprising his role as the Jedi Master and Hayden Christensen returning as Darth Vader. It is thought the move is a way to condense Disney’s already packed release schedule; with further Marvel & Star Wars shows due to be released this year.
