“Clark doesn’t care about you. He doesn’t care about the world. He barely cares about himself. But after an incident with an old bowl of spaghetti and a malfunctioning microwave, he becomes a superhero that can fight crime with the power of spaghetti. However, you have to pay him.”

‘CyberPunkzzz’ Interview
By Jay Kay (Host of Horror Happens Radio Show)
We spoke to filmmakers Turner Stewart and Dionne Copeland about their first feature //CYBERPUNKZZ//!
“//CYBERPUNKZZ//” is a brave feature from a very talented group of filmmakers. After working on more than five short films including some very powerful and visual projects like “Computer Hearts” and “S.I.D.S.”, this seems like the natural progression. What made “//CYBERPUNKZZ//” the right first feature and where did this story idea come from of gangs, the internet, and freedom?
Turner: Making Punkzz as our first feature just makes sense. Actually, Computer Hearts was originally going to be feature-length but we cut it way down into the 20-minute version that everyone knows now, so going into our first feature this year feels like a natural and necessary progression. In a way Punkzz is sort of a conceptual sequel to Computer Hearts, with all the themes and style I explored in that film taken to the next level. I’ve been describing Punkzz as The Warriors meets Altered States, with a story and aesthetic filtered through the techno-body horror style seen in our previous work.
Dionne: Right now Turner and I actually have two feature film scripts that we’re itching to produce, the other one being a feature-length adaption of my recently completed short film, Inferno. The one that gets made first will honestly just come down to whichever one we can get the financing nailed down for. Both projects will make excellent feature films, and we’re just excited to start filming something Continue reading

“What IS a Podcast? Podcasting is a new digital communications medium that
is not only changing the way people consume media, it is changing peoples lives.
Through my journey, I have met fellow podcasters, and listeners, whom I now call friends. The inspiration and comfort this medium gives to so many is a story that hasn’t yet received the attention it deserves. This film is not just about my journey. Its the journey of the many podcasters, and listeners, friends and family, and how this medium is changing, helping, and even saving peoples lives, let alone building communities. The world is now at everyone’s fingertips and podcasters are the pioneers of a new digital age and medium.”
You can expect the film to include interviews with podcasters from around the world and from the largest to the smallest shows as well as fans and supporters of the medium.

The story of ‘Shooting Clerks (Kevin Smith Biopic) – A Thank-You’
Written by Benjamin Gummery
We spend a lot of time on this blog talking about other people’s projects; however this post is about a personal passion project of mine.
I was really inspired by Scottish Indie film-makers AuldReekieMedia (namely director Christopher Downie & producer Brett Murray who started making YouTube shorts based on works, life & times of writer/director Kevin Smith. Smith is probably my favourite director of all time…I have always loved listening to his Q&As, podcasts and commentary tracks; especially the stories behind making such cult films as Clerks. But now…these guys are bringing these stories to life in film in such an accurate and respectful way.
I even started off the blog properly with my first major article which featured Auld Reekie Media; ‘Kevin Smith, Podcasts & the power of Fandom’ so it has been part of the journey of the blog all along. I pick up their story later on with the release of the trailer for ‘Shooting Clerks’; a feature-length biopic of Kevin Smith focussing on the production of the film Clerks, a story I have always loved.
This led me to thinking how I could practically help out the project further with the resources at my disposal. I had already made contact with some of the original Clerks cast members for interviews and I knew a few other people from the project so putting together some kind of long-distance video project seemed feasible. This led to the idea of ‘Shooting Clerks (Kevin Smith Biopic) – A Thank-You’.
The Chair (Kickstarter) – ‘More than your average Horror/Thriller ‘
Written by Benjamin Gummery
The story revolves around Richard Sullivan (Timothy Muskatell); an innocent man that is sentenced to die. But in this prison, there are fates worse than death as the Warden (Bill Oberst Jr.) and his guards have become thoroughly corrupted with their absolute power.
“THE CHAIR is, at first glance, your average prison horror/thriller. But just beneath the dark and gritty surface, there’s a story – and a film – about the struggle to survive, the abuse of power, and the isolation and despair that all human beings face in their final hour.”
“There are no demons or zombies here – the only monster on death row is man“.
‘Shooting Clerks’ (Kevin Smith biopic) teaser released!
Scottish production company Auld Reekie Media has released the first teaser trailer for their much anticipated biopic of writer/director Kevin Smith titled ‘Shooting Clerks‘. The film will focus on the production of his 1994 debut hit film Clerks as well as looking into the events that preceded and followed it.
Director Christopher Downie and Producer Brett Murray have previously worked on several Kevin Smith themed projects; most notably the short ‘Get GREEDO!‘ which was posted on Smith’s own ‘Smodco Internet Television‘ YouTube channel.
The cast features actors portraying Kevin Smith, Jason Mewes & many other actors/others involved with the making of Clerks but interestingly also includes cameo and small-role appearances from many original Clerks cast members including Brian O’Hallaran, Marilyn Ghigliotti, Scott Schiaffo, Ernie O’Donnell and many others associated with Smith. Smith himself is expected to narrate the film.
Production was split between UK & US with principal photography taking place in Scotland while key locations were filmed by a 2nd Unit in and around New Jersey, USA. Funding for for film came from several crowd-funding campaigns as well as individual investors.
Please follow the film-makers Facebook & Twitter for updates on the release of this film.
This release is well timed following the release of Smith’s horror/thriller Tusk, the announcement that the second sequel to Clerks, Clerks III will shoot this year and also amidst the news that Smith is putting together a sequel to his 1995 follow-up film Mallrats.
